BDC - Day 4 (Buku Kegemaran Anda)

*EDITED*

Hello hello...
Bersiaran lagi untuk cabaran hari ke 4, buku kegemaran saya.
Sejujurnya aku memang suka membaca novel.
Especially yang bergenre chicklit, memang menjadi pilihan aku.
Tapi...sorry ya, aku baca novel english language saja.
Novel melayu...ermmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Ko pepahamlah kalau dah panjang idham maalghunahnya tu.

Dalam banyak2 novelist, aku minat karya Jill Mansell.
Buku pertama karya dia yang aku baca is Miranda's Big Mistake. Back in 2001 or 2002 macam tu.
Fotostat dari original book, tapi tak tau sepa punya sebab aunty aku kata terhumban kat desk dia dah beberapa hari takde orang claim. Jadi dia bawak balik.
Terus jadi hak milik..hehehe!
From then on I'm hooked to her books.
Antara books by Jill Mansell  yang aku dah baca:-

  • Kiss (1993)
  • Perfect Timing (1997)
  • Head Over Heels (1998)
  • Miranda's Big Mistake (1999)
  • Millie's Fling (2001)
  • Staying at Daisy's (2002)
  • To The Moon And Back (2011)

So amongst the books I've read, ada satu buku sangat menambat hati aku.
Sangat sangat menambat sampai aku sanggup beli DUA kali bila buku itu hilang dari simpanan.
Here it is:-

Buku yang originally dalam simpanan aku rupa covernya macam ini. Tapi hilang a.k.a dipinjam oleh someone (aku dah tak ingat siapa) sampai sekarang tak pulangkan balik. Dah gone case. I is sedih!

The second book yang aku beli. Same title, different cover.
Aku tak reti la nak kasi sinopsis pasal buku ni.
Jadi apa kata aku gunakan khidmat encik google.

Millie Brady, is a 25-year-old woman living in Cornwall, England, who describes herself as a female Mr. Bean. She’s dumped by her boyfriend in the very first chapter of the novel — he’s asking her to move in with him, but she’s more concerned about the woman ready to jump off the cliff at Tresanter Point. That woman is Orla Hart, the best-selling romance novelist who is deeply hurt by her husband’s infidelity. Millie convinces her not to jump, and a close friendship — and work relationship — blooms. Orla, still reeling from a bad book review, decides to shake things up a bit with her latest novel, which she decides to base on Millie’s life. Millie must spill the beans on everything that goes on in her life — such as comforting her best friend and roommate, Hester, as she tries to juggle a long-distance romance with Nat, a chef working in Glasgow, and her long-time crush on Lucas, a womanizer who becomes Millie’s boss.
Other than her job as a roller-skating gorilla who delivers kissograms, Millie has a boring life (or so she says). The people around her, however, are another story. From Millie’s desperate mother, Adele, to the horrid couple with whom Millie worked as a travel agent. The supporting characters have mishaps of their own. As for Millie, Orla figures introducing Millie to various men will spice up her life and enhance the plot of the book being written about her. However, Millie gets herself into a pickle with Hugh Emerson, a widower whom she meets after finding his lost wallet and playing a phone prank on him.

I love the author's (Jill Mansell) creative way of connecting all the characters in her books into one lovely story. Every single character even sekecil kecil peranan pun somehow feels so important, if you left them out you'll miss something in the plot. Yet cerita dia takde langsung meleret meraban. Semua pun significant to everyday's life yang memang possible terjadi kat anyone in the world. How brilliant is that? Watak Millie tu lawak nak mampus ok! Lawak and best at the same time, boleh gittew? And that Hugh guy pun sangat ....how to say aah, charming lah. The dialog when they're exchanging banters pun best. Eh...serba serbi best!
Ooh aku suka lawak british (eh boleh ke panggil gitu? Sukati aku je kan...hew3x)

Dah siap challenge hari ke 4.
Nantikan pula cabaran hari ke 5 okay!

*Takde idea nak buat penutup*
